A 29 year-old driver from Arlington has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter after he caused an accident that killed a fifth grade boy last weekend. The 10 year-old boy suffered from blunt force trauma after the man drove past a stop sign and struck the vehicle driven by his mother. The boy’s mother was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The man is currently behind bars in the Arlington City Jail on a $50,000 bond. Blood tests are still pending for the driver, but police have already charged him with two other charges of intoxicated assault. This is the 21st alcohol related death this year in Arlington.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the young boy who died  in the accident.
